Granddaughters ~ How Precious
Granddaughters ~ How Precious
The sweetness of this little girl,
she is an extension of my grandparents, my mother, and me
oh so precious.
There are no spoken words that can describe
this beautiful feeling inside when I think or see her.
She is the sparkle in her Daddy's eyes,
the femininity and warmth of her Mother's being,
the craftiness of her Aunt,
the humor of her Grampy,
the intriguing curiosity of her Grandpa
and the intelligence, love and caring of us all.
She sings, she dances, she plays,
and creates the excitement the adults tend to forget.
When she is in the room, smiles gleam, laughter echoes and love flows.
She calls me "Grandmama" which sets my heart from the start.
Her hugs are warm, fun and lasting.
Her questions are curious and clever.
And her aptitude is so very amazing to us all -
At only six years old, she is reading at Level 6
which is the middle of the first grade or more.
(She is only in Kindergarten!)
This precious little girl moves us all
and makes us want to live
as though we, too, are young again.

Below are some very precious words written by my granddaughter:
"A special place I love to go is my grandmother's house. I love to go there because it's nice and cozy. My grandma makes it cozy and I really enjoy it. I sometimes curl up in a blanket and have hot cocoa and relax on the couch. Me and grandma relax together. We'll have sleepovers and watch movies. Once, we picked up chicken from a store and some veggies. Then, we watched movies and ate our very healthy dinner. Before dessert, we went outside and looked out at that stars. And when we went back in, we had popcorn and gummy bears for a treat. Anyway, I really do love my grandma's house and that's why."
